EYE-INSPIRED INNOVATIONS in every ACUVUE® contact lens

Published Sep 2025

Every eye is different and ACUVUE® is inspired by them all.1 That’s why our contact lenses feature EYE-INSPIRED INNOVATIONS, advanced technologies designed to work in harmony with your patient’s eyes.

EYE-INSPIRED Innovations

Every eye is different and ACUVUE® is inspired by them all.

INVISIBLE EDGE FOR COMFORT1

ACUVUE® Contact Lenses have an INVISIBLE EDGE design so your eyelids glide over them as if nothing is there.2

MOISTURE-INFUSED FOR HYDRATION1

Inspired by the eye's own tear film, our scientists developed a patented process to embed high molecule PVP into our lens matrix.7,8 This hydrating agent mimics the mucin in the tear film, providing moisture at the surface and throughout the lens.*2

UV BLOCKING**1 FOR EYE HEALTH

One effective approach to keeping your patient’s eyes healthy is to help them avoid long-term UV radiation exposure. Our lenses incorporate UV-blocking to help protect eyes from transmission of harmful UV radiation.**3

PUPIL OPTIMISED1 FOR MULTIFOCAL VISION

Pupil size changes with age but also due to refractive error. Our multifocal contact lenses optimise the optical design across the power and add range with 183 optical designs to closely match the natural variation in pupil size.5

EYELID STABILISED DESIGN FOR ASTIGMATISM1

Patients with astigmatism need their lenses to stay stable throughout the day, but natural head and eye movement can cause them to rotate. Our lenses for astigmatism have 4 stabilisation zones that work naturally with the eyelids, harnessing the power of the blink to help keep the lens in place.6

ANTIOXIDANTS TO SUPPORT COMFORT1

Inspired by the natural antioxidants that occur in the ocular environment, our scientists explored the impact of an added antioxidant to the material of our contact lenses. They discovered that the addition of this component delivers 4x the antioxidant capacity of vitamin E.#2 This helps to keep tear film lipids in their natural state when they interact with lens material, supporting comfort for your patients.#4

Footnotes

** All ACUVUE® Brand Contact Lenses have UV-blocking to help provide protection against transmission of harmful UV radiation to the cornea and into the eye. UV-absorbing contact lenses are NOT substitutes for protective UV-absorbing eyewear such as UV-absorbing goggles or sunglasses because they do not completely cover the eye and surrounding area.

* ACUVUE®2 and ACUVUE® Theravision with Ketotifen do NOT contain PVP.
