EYE-INSPIRED™ Innovations
Every ACUVUE® Contact Lens is inspired by the natural function of the eye1 based on a deep understanding of patient needs. Combined with your expertise, EYE-INSPIRED™ INNOVATIONS help you deliver differentiated vision experiences to your patients.
Every eye is different. We’re inspired by them all.1
EYE-INSPIRED™ Innovations
INVISIBLE EDGE FOR COMFORT1
Unique to ACUVUE® Contact Lenses2
Inspired by the anatomy of the eye and eyelid. Johnson & Johnson scientists created consistently thin edged, contoured lenses that help conform the lens to the shape of the eye and minimise lid interaction.3
MOISTURE-INFUSED FOR HYDRATION1
Unique to ACUVUE® Contact Lenses3 4
Inspired by the natural eye and the function of the tear-film, ACUVUE® brand contact lenses are embedded with PVP*2 to help maintain balance moisture and mimic tear film mucins.4 5
UV BLOCKING† FOR EYE HEALTH1
In every ACUVUE® Contact Lens#^
Inspired by the effects of UV radiation on the eye, Johnson & Johnson scientists created the only contact lens portfolio that incorporates UV blocking in every lens2#^ to help protect eyes from the transmission of harmful UV radiation. 6#^
PUPIL OPTIMISED FOR MULTIFOCAL VISION1
In ACUVUE® MULTIFOCAL Contact Lenses
Inspired by the natural eye and pupil size in relation to ageing and refractive error, Johnson & Johnson scientists created 183 pupil-optimised designs4 , the ONLY technology that uniquely optimises the optical design to the pupil size according to age and refractive power.7
EYELID STABILISED FOR ASTIGMATISM1
In ACUVUE® Contact Lenses for ASTIGMATISM
Inspired by ocular anatomy and the need for astigmats to maintain clear, stable vision, Johnson & Johnson scientists developed an Eyelid Stabilised Design, that helps keep the lens in place, even with eye or head movements.8
ANTIOXIDANTS TO SUPPORT COMFORT1
Unique to ACUVUE® Contact Lenses9
Inspired by natural antioxidants found in the ocular environment, Johnson & Johnson scientists explored the impact of an added antioxidant to the material of ACUVUE® Brand contact lenses. They discovered that the addition of this component delivers 4x the antioxidant capacity of vitamin E. This helps to keep tear film lipids in their natural state when they interact with the lens material, supporting comfort for your patients.9∞~
Footnotes
*ACUVUE 2 does NOT contain PVP.
#All ACUVUE® Contact Lenses have Class 1 or Class 2 UV-blocking to help provide protection against transmission of harmful UV radiation to the cornea and into the eye. UV-absorbing contact lenses are NOT substitutes for protective UV-absorbing eyewear such as UV-absorbing goggles or sunglasses because they do not completely cover the eye and surrounding area. UV transmission measured with -1.00DS lens.
^Helps protect against transmission of harmful UV radiation to the cornea and into the eye.
∞ As shown (or determined) in a laboratory study.
~ On a mass basis.
