Determining ocular dominance is a critical step in successful multifocal contact lens fitting. Although sighting dominance is used by many practitioners to determine the dominant eye, it is actually sensory dominance that likely facilitates better outcomes. In fact, sighting dominance will result in a different dominant eye 20 to 40 % of the time!
