ACUVUE® Eye-Inspired Designs

Tear-Infused Design*

Not just coated, but embedded with a tear-like wetting agent that mimics key tear components to provide a long-lasting cushion of moisture for all day comfort.**,2, 3, 4

Invisible Edge Design

A thin tapered edge design reduces lens-lid interaction so your eyelid glides over the lens as if nothing is there.2,5

UV Blocking

Class 1 or 2 UV blocking to help protect against the transmission of harmful UV radiation to the cornea and into the eye.$^2

PUPIL OPTIMIZED Design

100% of parameters optimized by age and refractive power vs. less than 2% for the leading competitors, delivering crisp, clear vision near, far and in between. ‡6,7

BLINK STABILIZED® Design

Harnessing the power of the blink, four stability zone design makes lens more resistant to effects of gravity, minimizes lower-lid interaction, and delivers a prism-free optic zone to provide excellent comfort and clear, stable vision throughout the day. Also provides horizontal and vertical symmetry so the lens cannot be inserted upside down.¶§ 8,9,10,11

† Clinical trial results posted on ClinicalTrials.gov, a website maintained by the NIH, were reviewed as of April 30, 2024. The 47 clinical trials evaluated subjective comfort as a primary or secondary endpoint for the ACUVUE® OASYS Brand family (including daily disposable families), the 1-DAY ACUVUE® MOIST Brand family (within the category of hydrogel daily disposable), and the ACUVUE® VITA® Brand family, vs. competitors’ products.

‡ Compared to leading competitor’s design, technology optimized for both the parameters of refractive error and add power.

¶ Traditional prism and peri-ballast lens designs have a thicker area below lower eyelid than ACUVUE® Brand Contact Lenses for ASTIGMATISM that can cause interaction and may cause unwanted rotation due to lateral movement of the lower lid during blinks.

§ Vertical heterophoria possibly caused by prism dissociation due to the presence of induced optical prism is a relevant factor for practitioners to consider when fitting toric contact lenses for monocular astigmats or those requiring a mix of toric soft contact lens designs.

9,10 Clinical studies have not been done to fully characterize the clinical effects of differences in base down prism among different contact lenses.

**ACUVUE 2 and ACUVUE Theravision with Ketotifen do NOT contain PVP.

$Helps protect against transmission of harmful UV radiation to the cornea & into the eye.

^WARNING: UV-absorbing contact lenses are NOT substitutes for protective UV-absorbing eyewear such as UV-absorbing goggles or sunglasses because they do not completely cover the eye and surrounding area. You should continue to use UV-absorbing eyewear as directed. NOTE: Long-term exposure to UV radiation is one of the risk factors associated with cataracts. Exposure is based on a number of factors such as environmental conditions (altitude, geography, cloud cover) and personal factors (extent and nature of outdoor activities). UV-blocking contact lenses help provide protection against harmful UV radiation. However, clinical studies have not been done to demonstrate that wearing UV-blocking contact lenses reduces the risk of developing cataracts or other eye disorders. Consult your eye care practitioner for more information.
